The Muskoka region has been a summer playground for Toronto for generations. Quite often I see long, sleek powerboats from a previous era. Their elegant shape and glowing wood remind me of a time that was more simple. The more rounded shapes of mid-century boats carries an art deco sensibility. I love these boats, and wish I could have seen them and their surroundings when they were new and my grandparents were young. These boats were not moored together, by the way, but come from three different photographs of boats I admired mashed together into one painting.
